MIMO antennas are designed specifically for 4G devices with two antenna ports and suit all carriers that offer a 3G/4G service. MIMO is an acronym for ‘multi in multi out’. MIMO technology enables the device to dynamically set up multiple signal paths to optimise transmission and reception.


MIMO antennas have two antenna cables and are basically ‘two antennas in one’ where the two antenna radiators are polarised at opposite 45-degree angles to match the cell phone tower transmission format. MIMO antennas should be used where optimum 3G/4G performance is required. Our wide band 850/900/1800/2100MHz model is optimised for 4G/LTE bands, however it will also enhance the 3G signal level using Spacial Diversity in areas where 4G is not available.

This representation of the typical performance has been designed to graphically represent the impact of cable loss of different cables based on the length of cable used.

The representation assumes that the signal strength with a 1mtr cable attached to the MIMO antenna will provide the equivalent of 4 bars signal strength. If the acquired signal is less than 4 bars then the typical performance outcome with the cable will also be reduced.

Adding any length of any cable will reduce the resultant signal level. You will not get more signal out than what you put in!

MIMO antennas can be ordered with 2 different connection styles.


AARC-MIMO-SMA

Fitted with 12m LMR195 Coax Cable & fitted with an SMA Male plug

For direct connection into modem cradle, router/modem or connection into back of wall plate. Modem patch leads supplied.


2 LMR-195 12 metre cables are connected to a dual S M A connector plate. 2 Patch cables, S M A to (T S 9, S M A, C R C 9 or MS147 plugs) connect the connector plate to the modem.
2 LMR-195 12 metre cables are connected to two S M A plugs. 2 Patch cables, S M A to (T S 9, S M A, C R C 9 or MS147 plugs) connect the S M A plugs to the modem.

If you want a tidy, professional looking installation then running the coax down the inside of your walls and exit via our premium wall plate is the way to go. Standard plate is fitted with 2x SMA sockets.

Whether you connect via a wall plate or direct to the antenna coax cables, you will need 2 patch cables. We supply these, you just need to let us know what type of connection is needed (TS9, SMA, CRC9, or MS147).

AARC-MIMO-N

Fitted with 50cm coax cable pigtail terminated in N-Type Female Connector

This system is normally used for longer cable runs, i.e. >12m. We suggest that you connect LMR-400 low-loss coax (10mm dia.) for cable runs up to 35m, while for lengths longer than 35m we recommend LDF4-50A Heliax super low-loss coax cable. This Super Low-loss coaxial cable is quite thick (16mm dia.) and may present a challenge for installing into wall cavities, however its superior quality is generally worth the extra cost & hassle. Your choice of coax cable is sold by the metre. This cable is terminated with N-Type Male connectors. Modem patch leads supplied.


2 50cm pigtails with n-type connector connect to 2 L M R-400 or L D F4-50A Coax Cables which then connect to a dual connector plate via 2 N-connector to S M A pigtail cables. 2 Patch cables, S M A to (T S 9, S M A, C R C 9 or MS147 plugs) connect the connector plate to the modem.
2 50cm pigtails with n-type connector connect to 2 L M R-400 or L D F4-50A Coax Cables. 2 n-connector to S M A adapters connect the Coax cables to 2 Patch cables, S M A to (T S 9, S M A, C R C 9 or MS147 plugs). The patch cables connect to the modem.
